Calvin “Bugoonce” Kingbird Sr., 80, Indian name Gabizidong, which means the one who listens, of Ponemah, died Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2008, at his residence in Ponemah. A traditional funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Ponemah Community Center in Ponemah with Spiritual Leader Thomas Stillday Jr. officiating. A wake began at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Ponemah Community Center and will continue until the time of the funeral. Burial will be in the Kingbird family burial grounds in Ponemah. The Cease Family Funeral Home of Blackduck assisted the family with arrangements.
