Bemidji dentist takes over Blackduck practice 
Dr. Scott Larson, a dentist who worked with Dr. Marshall Muirhead in Bemidji for the past five years, has taken over a practice in Blackduck from retiring dentist Dr. Paul Bengtson.

Three summers ago I added a new wildlife-related structure to my ever-growing collection of bluebird, house wren, wood duck and kestrel houses and other nesting structures. I installed a bat house on the utility pole next to my house.

Blackduck Council bids farewell to outgoing members following last meeting 
Members of the Blackduck City Council met for the last time this year for a short but sad meeting Dec. 20.
The meeting moved quickly with the council giving its approval to the consent agenda which included a request for a 3.2 malt liquor on-sale license for the Blackduck Bowling Lanes.

Kelliher Council approves of new AC unit 
The Kelliher City Council met Nov. 22 for a special meeting to discuss employee reviews, discuss the budget for next year and gave its consent for the purchase of a new air conditioning/heating unit for the clerk’s office.

Dunk Erickson photo to be unvelied Dec. 19 
Being a mechanic just seemed to come natural to Donald “Dunk” Erickson. After all, he was only six years old when his father opened up the garage in Kelliher. That was back in the 1930s. His father never forced him to work in the garage, “it was just what you did to help out during hard times.”
