Marlene E. Dick, 75, of West Richland, Wash., formerly of Cass Lake, died Friday, Oct. 30, 2009.

Marlene E. Dick, 75, of West Richland, Wash., formerly of Cass Lake, died Friday, Oct. 30, 2009.

A funeral services will be at 4 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 5, in the Memories at Sunset Event Center at Einan’s Funeral Home, 915 By-Pass Highway, Richland, Wash. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. A celebration of life gathering will be held after the funeral.

She was born March 14, 1934, to Albert and Margaret Willerth in Indian Head, Saskatchewan. She earned a degree as an R.N. She traveled to Los Angeles, then to Nome, Alaska, Anchorage and Mt. Edgecumbe, Alaska, where she met and married Wilfred E. Dick. She moved to Cass Lake in 1971, where she raised her three children and several other children from the town. She was also the Director of Nursing at the Indian Health Service Hospital. In 1990, she retired and moved with her daughter to the Tri-Cities of Kennewick, Richland and Pasco, Wash. She golfed and played bridge. She went back to work as a home health nurse and after several years retired again. She enjoyed beachcombing, painting and spending time with her children.

She is survived by her brothers, Charlie Willerth, Don (Connie) Willerth and Jerry (Doreen) Willerth; sisters, Louise Willerth, Jean (Walter) Wagner and Joyce Tilton; son, Wilfred E. (Lisa) Dick Jr.; daughters, Laura (Darren) Curtis and Linda (Tom) Dick-Olson and five grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Wilfred E. Dick Sr.; brother, Gordon Willerth; a brother-in-law; a sister-in-law and a son-in-law.
