Roy C. Loebs, 89, of Bemidji, died Thursday, Oct. 29, 2009, at North Country Regional Hospital in Bemidji.
Roy C. Loebs, 89, of Bemidji, died Thursday, Oct. 29, 2009, at North Country Regional Hospital in Bemidji.
Memorial Services will be held in the summer. Arrangements are with the Cease Family Funeral Home of Bemidji.
He was born Feb. 15, 1920, to Roy J. and Irene (Starr) Loebs in Ontario, Calif.. He was raised and educated in Glendale, Calif. After graduation he joined the U.S. Army, serving during World War II, as a mechanic on large vehicles. After being honorably discharged he married Bette Reed on Nov. 11, 1946, in Burbank, Calif. He started work for ITT as a design engineer, and worked there until his retirement in 1986. He has lived in Bemidji for the past ten years. He loved to tinker on things, especially cars.
He is survived by his wife, Bette Loebs of Bemidji; children, Kathy (Bill) Menzel of California, Cindy (Dave) Morrell of Virginia, Patrick (Marilyn) Loebs of California, Betsy (Bob) Miller of California; Robert Dolan of Minnesota, Julie (Mike) Ronan of Virginia, Tina (Michael) Marinelli of North Carolina, Paul (Sara) Loebs of Idaho, Pete (Rainee) Loebs of Missouri, Kris (Rhonda) Loebs of California, Suzanne Loebs of North Carolina, Tim (Loretta) Loebs of California and Tiffany (Scott) Hanson of Bemidji; brother, Robert (Celeste) Loebs of Roseville, Calif.; sister, Mary Bruno of Northridge, Calif.; 31 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
