"Leading Ladies" opens Friday
Bemidji Community Theater will present "Leading Ladies" this weekend and next at the Historic Chief Theater in downtown Bemidji.
"Leading Ladies" is a play about two down-on-their-luck English actors trying to make their fortune in America. They discover that an old millionaire, Florence Snider, is dying and wants to will part of her fortune to her missing relatives. Believing the lost relatives to be nephews, our actors set out for York, Pa. However, on their journey they discover the relatives are nieces. This does not deter these would-be heirs.
The play opens at 7:30 p.m. Friday. Other show times are 7:30 p.m. Saturday and Feb. 12 and 13. Matinees are planned for 2 p.m. Sunday and Feb. 14.
Tickets are available at Shannon's Art and Soul, Iverson Corner Drug and Ken K. Thompson Jewelry. Cost is $12 for adults and $6 for children.
Community theater officials advise that "Leading Ladies" does feature adult humor that isn't appropriate for young children and they have rated it PG-13.
