Ferdig travel presentation set Nov. 26

BEMIDJI—Brandon Ferdig will give a presentation about a recent trip to the American South at 2 p.m. Nov. 26 at the Bemidji Public Library, 509 America Ave. NW.

Ferdig spent 2016 traveling the American South. He met with the elderly, self-proclaimed rednecks, Pentecostals, politicians and they opened up about their lives, their outlooks on the world, their hopes and struggles, according to a release.

Ferdig, a former Bemidji resident, will share stories, photos, and footage of his interactions and insights. He will also be selling and signing copies of his book "Life Learned Abroad: Lessons on Humanity From China." This event is free and open to the public. Holiday open house at Gallery North

BEMIDJI—A holiday open house will be held from 2 to 5 p.m. Dec. 2 at Gallery North, 502 Third St. NW. The open house will include a drawing for a work of art. The gallery is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday.
