Moondance expects record attendance this year

WALKER - The staff at Moondance Jam is preparing for a record-setting number of fans for the festival's Pre Jam Party next week.

Moondance Jam opens Wednesday, when campers can begin checking in.

Kid Rock, the attraction for many attendees of the festival, will be the opening act Thursday, with classic rock icons John Fogerty and Heart headlining Friday and Saturday.

"We sold a record number of single day tickets for Thursday and our four day camping pass numbers are showing that Wednesday could be our biggest Pre Jam Party since we started it a few years ago," said Kathy Bieloh, festival owner, said in a news release. "Everyone is really excited."

In addition to these performers, the festival will celebrate its 21st year with Three Days Grace, Grand Funk Railroad, Hinder, Night Ranger, Skid Row, Don Felder, April Wine, Cavo and over 30 other national and regional acts.

Single- and three-day tickets, along with three- and four-day general camping passes, will be available at the gates starting Wednesday. Ticket prices range from $100 per day to $475 for three-day VIP passes.
