Bemidji Symphony Orchestra to host last season concert
"Trials and Triumphs," the Bemidji Symphony Orchestra's fourth and final subscription concert of the 2009-2010 season, will be presented at 3 p.m. Sunday, April 24, in the Bemidji High School Auditorium under the direction of Beverly Everett. Doors will open for seating at 2:30 p.m.
Tickets are $15 at the door, $10 for seniors and students and free of charge for students enrolled in the Bemidji School District. Tickets can also be purchased in advance at Lueken's Village Foods North in Bemidji.
The concert will feature David Heyde in the Concerto for Horn and Orchestra No. 4 in E-flat Major, K. 495 by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Heydes serves as Associate Principal Horn with the Dallas Symphony Orchestra. Before coming to Dallas, Heyde served for two seasons as the principal horn of the Omaha Symphony Orchestra. He received degrees from Baylor University and Southern Methodist University.
Also included in the concert are the Leonore Overture No. 3 by Ludwig van Beethoven and the Symphony No. 7 in A Major, Op. 92, also by Beethoven. This symphony will be dedicated to all the brave firefighters who were called into service on March 23 to combat the fire at Regency Apartments. A free-will donation will be collected after the concert and will be given to the displaced victims of the fire.
