First Friday Art Walk set

The First Friday Art Walk in Bemidji will be Friday and will include the following participants:

-- Bemidji Community Art Center will host its April First Friday Art Walk and Opening Reception, featuring the ninth annual Bemidji Area High School Invitational from 5-7 p.m. Friday 426 Bemidji Ave. N. in Carnegie Library. This exhibit features work by Bemidji area student, in a variety of mediums. The exhibit will close April 25. Shop 526 will be open, with new inventory. -- Neilson Place will host an Opening Reception for artist Natalia Himmirska from 2-5 p.m. Friday, in the Neilson Place Lobby at 1000 Anne St. N.W. The North Country Health Services Art Committee is pleased to host this new art exhibit, titled, "Embrace," featuring original paintings by Natalia. -- Wild Hare Bistro and Coffee House will host an Opening Reception for Mackenzie Lindahl and Moni Schneider, from 3-5 p.m. Friday at 523 Minnesota Ave. N.W. Their exhibit, titled, "Edible Mandala: an Exploration of Culinary Inspiration" will close April 29. Like a Tibetan sand mandala, culinary art is meant to be dispersed as soon as it is created, so guests are invited to stay from 5-9 p.m. and consume some of the recipes featured in the show, during the First Friday Wine Bar. -- Dunn Bros Coffee continues to exhibit work by photographer, Brandon Bjerknes for the month of April with his show entitled "Simply Beautiful." -- Beltrami County Historical Society, in conjunction with Gallery North, will host an opening reception from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Friday at The History Center, 130 Minnesota Ave. S.W. -- Bad Cat Creations Gallery and Gifts will host an opening reception for Cody Bartz from 4-7 p.m. Friday at 315 Irvine Ave. N.W. Bartz is art and design student at Bemidji State University, he will showcase his screen printed posters and pottery. -- Cabin Coffeehouse and Café will host an opening reception for John Eggers, from 4-6 p.m. Friday at 214 Third St. Eggers exhibit, "Horses, Haystacks and Haunts," is a mixture of still life, farm animals, nature and landscapes and can be seen through the month of April. Audry Merschman's painting will also be displayed and available for purchase. The Cabin is open from 7 a.m.-8 p.m. Monday-Friday, 7 a.m.-7 p.m. Saturday and from 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m. Sunday. -- Mask and Rose Women's Theater Collective and the Northwood's Folk Collective will host its First Friday Coffeehouse at 7:30 p.m., with performer sign-up beginning at 6:30 p.m. Friday at the Masonic Temple, 501 Bemidji Ave. The cost is $2 for individuals and $5 for families. Fleur de Lis Gallery will host a new exhibit, "Mother Art," a celebration of woman in the arts featuring a collection of artwork made by woman of all ages from Bemidji and the surrounding area. -- Gallery North will host an open house from 2-5 p.m. Friday at 502 Third St. N.W. The April Showcase will be the Annual Artists of Minnesota Traveling Mini Show. The exhibit of miniature original art includes work from artists all across the state of Minnesota and will be on display throughout the month of April. The featured artists will be two of the founding members of Gallery North, Joyce Martin, a watercolorist and Mary Morton, a rosemaler. For details, call 751-7741.
