Yost, Bemidji topple Denfeld

DULUTH – Jess Yost scored 17 points as Bemidji eased past Duluth Denfeld 55-38 here Saturday afternoon.

The Lumberjacks (8-15) outscored the Hunters 29-19 in the first half then held a 26-19 advantage in the second half to secure the victory.

Yost had 14 to lead Bemidji, while Casey Palmet added 11 and Dani Gronhovd went 6-for-7 from the foul line and scored eight points.

For Denfeld (5-17), Becca Hendrickson led the was as the only Hunter in double digits with 12 points.

The Lumberjacks return to Bemidji fo4r a pair of games at home next weekend to close out their regular season.

Bemidji hosts St. Cloud Apollo Monday before closing out the regular season Thursday with a date against Grand Rapids.
