WSN gets Business Excellence Award

Widseth Smith Nolting is the first-ever recipient of the Brainerd Lakes Chamber’s Business Excellence Award.
The other finalists were Deerwood Technologies Inc. and Range Inc. The award was announced Oct. 8 at the Chamber’s Annual Dinner.
The Chamber inaugurated the program “to recognize area businesses for their entrepreneurial spirit and accomplishments.” Nominated firms were judged on six criteria: growth, excellence, innovation, risk-taking, business ethics and community impact. Accepting the award on behalf of WSN were Bruce Buxton, former president and CEO, and Kevin Wernberg, executive vice president.
Widseth Smith Nolting’s Baxter location is the largest of the firm’s eight locations. the others are Alexandria, Bemidji, Crookston, East Grand Forks, Red Wing and Rochester, Minn., and Grand Forks, N.D.
