WRESTLING: Bemidji splits at Hibbing tournament

HIBBING –Bemidji will face Mound today for third place of the Hibbing Invitational.

The Lumberjacks split their first two matches Friday, drubbing Nashwauk-Keewatin 45-18 but losing to Chisago Lakes 39-31

BHS was the second seed while Chisago Lakes was ranked third.

In the win over N-K the Jacks were aided by three forfeit victories. In matches that were held Bemidji had pin victories from Cody Freyholtz (126), Robert Treuer (152), Kade Johnson (170) and Josh Dreyer (182).

Against Chisago Lakes Bemidji forfeited at 126 and 195 and those lost 12 points proved costly. The Jacks posted a 7-5 record in matches that were held.

Winning with pins were Brian Maas (113), Dylan Sauceda (132) and Brody Wilander (220). Posting decision victories were Tyler Maas (106) Craig Maas (145), Treuer (152) and Dreyer (182).
