WRESTLING: Bemidji loses close one to PL/PR-B
PEQUOT LAKES – Despite winning five of their first six matches, Bemidji lost its meet Thursday night because of a lack of size.
Bemidji was forced to forfeit bouts at the 195 and 200 pound weight classes against Pequot Lakes/Pine River-Backus.
It was a disappointing end to what began with a 21-6 Bemidji lead after the sixth bout.
Pins by Bryan Maas and Dylon Sauceda highlighted a strong set of bouts to begin the match. But forfeits at two of the heaviest weights, and losses by Bemidji’s Gannon Strain, Josh Dreyer and Kade Johnson proved their undoing.
Bemidji’s Alex Johnson ended the match with a 3-2 decision over Jared Adkins.
