WRESTLING: Bemidji falls at Badger/Greenbush 39-24
GREENBUSH – The Bemidji wrestling team won four matches and had two forfeits, but it wasn’t enough as Badger/Greenbush-Middle River defeated the Lumberjacks 39-24 Thursday night.
The Lumberjacks did well in the lighter weights, with Tyler O’Beirne defeating the Gators’ Isak Isane 9-6 at 106 and Brian Maas topping Wyatt Becker 5-1 at 113.
But the middle weights were a problem for the Lumberjacks, who were pinned in four of the eight matches they lost.
Craig Maas won his match 6-3 over Badger’s Brandon Waage at 138 and Robert Treuer defeated Cory Hausbrouk at 145. Kade Johnson (182) and Al Johnson (heavyweight) rounded out Bemidji’s victories; both won by forfeit.
The Lumberjacks return to action Tuesday when they travel to Roseau at 6 p.m.
