Work underway to create 1.5 acre park

Matthew McKenney of Park Rapids, a member of the Conservation Corps of Minnesota under the supervision of Lauren Vilen, is part of three crews conducting timber stand improvement east of the site of the future Menards on U.S. Highway 2 West. The Conservation Corps is providing chainsaw safety training and the Beltrami Soil and Water Conservation District is providing the work site. When complete, the 1.5-acre park will feature a loop trail shaded by original growth pines and young oaks. Pioneer Photo/Molly Miron
