WoodsEdge provides summer health care internship
Neilson Place, Trillium and WindSong are providing a summer health care internship for a local postsecondary student. Funding for the program is through a contract with the Minnesota Department of Health's Office of Rural Health and Primary Care.
The intern, Hannah Schuman, completed her first year at the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks, where she is studying in the biology/pre-med program with a minor in psychology. This is the fifth year that WoodsEdge Campus has provided an opportunity for students to be involved with its staff and residents.
This summer, Schuman has worked with a number of health care professionals. She is becoming familiar with and is developing skills to meet the needs of WoodsEdge residents.
WoodsEdge Campus provides a home-like atmosphere and lifestyle for a variety of clients. WoodsEdge caters to a wide range of clients, those who are independent, those who need some assistance, those who require skilled nursing care and those who require memory care. Residents live in a family-centered environment with a relaxing and convenient setting for senior living.
