WOMEN'S HOCKEY: UND's Lamoureux breaks WCHA’s all-time scoring mark in 7-0 rout of Bemidji State

GRAND FORKS, N.D. — North Dakota’s Jocelyne Lamoureux became the Western Collegiate Hockey Association’s all-time leading scorer Saturday night in a 7-0 women’s hockey victory over Bemidji State.

Lamoureux had six assists as UND rolled to the win. She needed four points in the weekend series to break Hillary Knight’s record of 262 points. Knight was a former Wisconsin standout.

The UND senior had one point during UND’s 4-3 overtime win against Bemidji State on Friday night.

North Dakota (20-10-0) jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first period and tacked on four more goals in the second.

Bemidji State (6-20-2) managed 21 shots on goal but could not dent UND goalie Shelby Amsley-Benzie.

Monique Lamoureux scored two goals for North Dakota. Michelle Gilbert, Megan Karvinen, Layla Marvin, Becca Kohler and Meghan Dufault also scored goals for the winners.

Abby Ryplanski started in goal for Bemidji State, but was replaced by Jessica Havel in the second period with UND leading 5-0.

The Beavers visit No. 1-ranked Minnesota for a two-game series next weekend.
