Email News Alerts

BEMIDJI -- The BSU women's hockey team hasn't yet hired its new coach for the 2014-15 season, but the Beavers have a schedule.

The 35-game schedule, includes 17 home dates, six nonconference games and an exhibition tilt, the school announced Wednesday.

The Beavers open the season Sept. 26-27 at Robert Morris before returning to Bemidji for a pair of single nonconference games at the Sanford Center. They'll take on Vermont of Hockey East Oct. 3 and and Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute of the ECAC Oct. 4.

BSU's WCHA schedule begins Oct. 17-18 with a series at Ohio State; the Beavers will host Wisconsin Oct. 24-25 in their WCHA home opener.

The Beavers have an exhibition game against Pursuit of Excellence Hockey Academy Dec. 3 and also travel to Lindenwood for a nonconference series Jan. 2-3.

BSU will play 28 WCHA games -- home and road series against each team.

Under head coach Steve Sertich last season, the Beavers finished 11-21-4 overall last season and 8-17-2 in conference play, good enough for sixth place in the standings.

Sertich, 61, retired in March after eight seasons coaching the team.

BSU officials said Wednesday that the search for his replacement is still underway but they didn't yet have a timetable for hiring someone new.
