BSU goaltender Jessica Havel registered her first career shutout with 20 saves, guiding the Beavers (4-14-2, 3-12-1-0 WCHA) to their first Saturday win of the season and helping her team salvage a weekend series split.

Junior defenseman Allie Duellman potted the game-winning goal, her first since Nov. 26, 2010, and senior forward Emily Erickson snapped a seven-game goalless drought to provide the game’s only offense.

Bemidji State returns home next weekend for a duel with Minnesota State, where it will seek its first win at the Sanford Center after an 0-9-1 start to the season next weekend.

The Beavers finish the month of January with a road series at Minnesota Duluth.
