The win snapped BSU’s losing skid at three games and gave the Beavers a 6-3 overall record and a 2-3 NSIC mark. Minot fell to 4-3 overall and 2-3 in the conference.

BSU and Minot both shot less than 35 percent overall but in the second half the Beavers hit 14 of their 31 shots. They also scored 13 points from the free throw line in the final 20 minutes.

BSU committed 17 turnovers but only seven in the second half. Minot had 23 turnovers.

Bemidji State struggled in the first half and needed three minutes to score its first points.

Minot took advantage of BSU’s offensive problems to forge a 22-12 lead and at intermission the visitors owned a 29-19 advantage.

During the first half BSU shot only 25 percent (8-of-32) from the field and struggled from behind the arc shooting only 20 percent (3-of-15).

The second half opened on a similar note and Minot increased its cushion to 35-22 before Bemidji State responded.

During the next two minutes the Beavers went on an 11-0 run, fueled by a trio of 3-pointers by Shannon Thompson.

Midway through the period BSU tied the game at 41-41 and a pair of free throws by Rash gave Bemidji State a 45-44 lead.

A short time later the Beavers took charge with a 10-0 spurt that gave the home team a 59-47 advantage. And Minot never recovered.

Thompson finished with 17 points while Morgan Lee had nine. Kate Warmack grabbed eight rebounds.

The Beavers are off until the new year when they travel to Northern State on Jan. 4 and Moorhead the next day.
