WOMEN'S BASKETBALL: Moorhead topples Bemidji State 75-55

MOORHEAD – The Bemidji State women’s basketball team lost 75-55 Saturday at Minnesota State Moorhead.

Morgan Lee led the Beavers (6-5 overall, 2-5 NSIC) with 16 points and four assists. Kate Warmack added 12 points, a career-high six blocks and five rebounds and Lanae Rash posted 11 points.

The Beavers jumped out to an 8-2 lead 2:32 into the contest, thanks to a pair of 3-pointers from Emily Reichert and Lee. Another trey by Lee and a 3-pointer from Rash gave the Beavers a 16-11 advantage.

BSU, however, was held scoreless for the next three minutes and Moorhead took advantage of the opportunity to claim a 22-16 lead.

By halftime the Dragons stretched their cushion to 37-29.

Warmack opened the second half with a pair of baskets to slice Bemidji State’s deficit to 37-33 but the home team answered with a 7-0 run to regain control.

The Beavers return home Friday and Saturday to host Augustana and Wayne State.
