BEMIDJI -- BSU erased a 16-point deficit to force two overtimes but lost 89-83 to University of Mary Friday.

The Marauders made eight of their nine free throw attempts in the second overtime and scored 20 points to edge the Beavers.

U-Mary (10-6, 8-5 NSIC) had a 32-20 lead at halftime and extended the lead to 40-24 in the first three minutes of the second half but BSU (8-9, 4-9 NSIC) cut into the lead with a big run midway through the period.

A Morgan Lee jump shot with 3 minutes, 22 seconds remaining in regulation capped a 21-5 run for BSU and tied the game at 54-54.

The Marauders took a four point lead with a pair of layups from Lindsay Sand, but the Beavers forced overtime at 60-all thanks to a jumper from Jessie Althoff and a layup from Hanna Zerr in the final minute.

Lee started the first overtime with a layup and BSU held a lead throughout the extra period until the final seconds, when Brittany Dietz hit a pair of free throws to send the game to a second overtime with the game tied at 69-69.

Dietz and Linda Murray each made a layup in the first ten seconds of the second overtime to give U-Mary a 73-69 lead -- one it held on to for the rest of the game.

Dietz led all scorers with 30 points.

Lee led the Beavers with 24 points, while Kate Warmack and Althoff each posted a double-double.

Warmack finished with 21 points and 12 rebounds, while Althoff scored 17 points and pulled down ten boards.

BSU will try to rebound against Minot State at 4 p.m. today.
