Woman killed in snowmobile accident near Detroit Lakes

DETROIT LAKES, Minn. - A 30-year-old St. Louis Park woman was killed early this morning in a snowmobile accident 10 miles northeast of here, the Becker County Sheriff's Office said.

The woman, formerly of Detroit Lakes, whose name will be released Monday following notification of relatives, apparently struck a tree, Deputy Kathy Nguyen said. She was riding alone at the time of the accident.

The snowmobiler was found this morning by a family friend. The sheriff's office and ambulance were dispatched at 8:24 a.m., and the victim was pronounced dead at the scene along County Road 29.
