Woman killed in Fosston accident is identified

A 39-year-old woman from Bagley died in a single-rollover accident Wednesday morning near Fosston.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol out of Thief River Falls:

Clarissa H. Ballek was taken to First Care Medical Services Fosston Clinic and pronounced dead after the 2003 Saturn Vue she was driving rolled along U.S. Highway 2 east of Fosston.

Ballek, who was not wearing her seat belt, had been ejected from the vehicle.

Also ejected from the vehicle was back-seat passenger Corban A. Ballek, 10, of Bagley, who was not wearing a seat belt. He suffered a serious injury.

Front-seat passenger Joseph R. Ballek, 13, of Bagley, who was wearing a seat belt, was not ejected, but suffered a broken arm.

Both boys were flown to MeritCare Hospital in Fargo.

The Saturn, which was totaled, had been headed westbound on Highway 2 just before 8:30 a.m. Wednesday when it lost control on the "Gilbertson Curve" and rolled.
