Woman hurt in ATV crash at Paul Bunyan State Forest

A Villard woman was injured in an all-terrain vehicle accident Friday morning in the Paul Bunyan State Forest in Akeley Township.

According to a press release from the Hubbard County Sheriff's Office:

Susan Pahan, 33, was driving a 2008 Artic Cat 650 H1 while she was out driving with a group. She was going through a mud puddle when she struck a rut, causing her to roll over.

Pahan was pinned under the ATV. She was transported by a rescue sled to an ambulance and then transported to North Country Regional Hospital in Bemidji with injuries to her right hip and knee.

Responding were the Hubbard County Sheriff's Office, Akeley First Responders, Lakeport First Responders, a conservation officer with the Minnesota Department of Natural Resource and North Ambulance.

The incident remains under investigation.
