Woman arrested for DWI told police she was on her way to work at Woodbury, Minn., school
WOODBURY, Minn. - A woman arrested last week in St. Paul on suspicion of driving while intoxicated told State Patrol officers she was on her way to work at a school in Woodbury.
Sarah S. Bjerke was stopped by an officer just before 10:30 a.m. July 22 while she was near Interstate 94 and state Highway 61 in St. Paul. The officer smelled a strong odor of alcohol and saw that Bjerke's eyes were red and watery, a criminal complaint filed with the St. Paul city attorney's office states.
Bjerke, 38, told the officer she was on her way to her job at Crosswinds Middle School in Woodbury.
The trooper had Bjerke blow into a portable breath testing unit which revealed she had an alcohol concentration of 0.133, the complaint states. The legal limit for driving in Minnesota is 0.08.
Bjerke was arrested and booked in the Ramsey County jail on a charge of gross misdemeanor driving while intoxicated.
Bjerke has two prior DWI convictions on her record dating back to Jan. 7 and Oct. 21, the complaint states.
