Woman accused of assault with a dangerous weapon
Samantha Dionne Zornes, 33, of 611 Third Street N.W., Bemidji has been charged in Becker County District Court with felony second-degree assault with a dangerous weapon and felony terroristic threats.
According to court records: On Sunday, she allegedly picked up a pair of scissors from a desk during an argument with her boyfriend at a residence in White Earth.
She allegedly came after him with the scissors, and he blocked the strike with his arm. He grabbed her and took the scissors away, but when he let her go she again grabbed the scissors and tried to stab him.
A tribal officer and two deputies responded to the scene. They observed the victim had long scratches down his arm from where she dragged the scissors down.
She allegedly admitted to them that she had threatened to stab the victim and in fact had stabbed him during previous domestic assaults between them.
She appeared Tuesday before District Judge Peter Irvine, who set cash bail at $2,000 or bond at $10,000.
Her next court appearance is Dec. 22.
