BEMIDJI - The Bemidji State University baseball team dropped two Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference contests Sunday to Winona State at the BSU diamond.
The Warriors used a five-run seventh to steal a 7-6 victory in the first game and followed it with a 20-12 win in the rematch. The losses d ropped the Beavers to 19-25 overall and 12-18 in NSIC play.
Jaryd Marks gave BSU a 1-0 lead in the second when he doubles and scored on Zach Braun's single.
BSU upped its cushion to 4-0 in the third on Chad Hanson's double, a walk to Tyler Nelson, Logan Kalis' single and Marks' single.
Winona used a pair of BSU errors to draw within 4-2 in the fifth but the Beavers answered with one run in their half of the inning as Hanson doubled, a ground ball and an error.
Winona, however, scored five runs in the seventh to overtake BSU.
The second game was a slugfest. Winona pounded 23 hits and had a pair of 5-run innings. BSU ripped 15 hits, including four by Braun, and scored five in the seventh.
BSU ends its home schedule at 1 p.m. today against Southwest Minnesota State.
