Willmar man apparently drowns in Hubbard County lake

At 7:38 p.m. Wednesday, the Hubbard County Sheriff's Office received a report of a possible drowning in Lower Bottle Lake in Lake Emma Township about seven miles northeast of Park rapids.

Responding to the call were Hubbard County deputies, Nevis First responders and North Memorial Ambulance.

Upon arriving at the scene, deputies learned that William Naylor, 75, of Willmar, was working on his boat when he fall off the boat life into the water. Naylor's wife and a neighbor, as well as deputies and first responders, had tried to resuscitate him but were unsuccessful.

Naylor was transported to Ramsey County Medical Examiner's Office to determine the cause of death. The incident remains under investigation by the Hubbard County Sheriff's Office.
