Williams 14th at state golf tournament

ROSEVILLE - Morgan Williams, who represented the Bemidji Town and Country Club, carded rounds of 92-87-179 and finished tied for 14th at the MGA Junior girls state tournament Monday and Tuesday at the Les Bolstad Golf Course in Roseville.

Joining Williams in the tournament were Bemidji High School and BTCC teammates Katelin Craft and Hailey Hinners.

Craft finished tied for 21st at 89-95-184 while Hinners finished 55th with 113-103-216.

In the team competition the trio placed fifth in the 17-team field. The scores of the top two individuals are used to determine the team results.

Williams and Craft combined for rounds of 181-182-363.

Rich Spring won the girls MGA team title at 333. Edina was second at 339, University of Minnesota placed third at 353 and Bent Creek was fourth at 359.
