William "Bill" Lincoln Hangsleben, 69, of McIntosh, Minn., died Sunday, March 15, 2009, at First Care Hospital in Fosston, Minn.
A memorial service and burial will be held at a later date.
Carlin-Hoialmen Funeral Home of Fosston assisted the family with arrangements.
He was born Feb.12, 1940, to Walter and Viola (Gosch) Hangsleben in Grand Forks, N.D. He attended East Grand Forks schools until 1954 when his family moved to Pinewood. He graduated from Bemidji High School in 1958. He married Colleen Fosse Nov. 25, 1961, in McIntosh. He farmed and logged in the McIntosh and Bagley areas. He and his wife lived in rural McIntosh, since 1999. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and growing melons and roses. He was accomplished in iron work, welding and fabricating. He had an exceptional gift for carpentry and furniture making. He also enjoyed watching his grandchildren's sporting events.
He is survived by his wife of McIntosh; daughter, Terri (Terry) Knutson of Bagley; three grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Ruth Simpson of Grand Forks, Mary Ann Ohman of Fargo, N.D., Judy Halvorson of Sioux Falls, S.D., Robert Hangsleben of Sierra Vista, Ariz., Fred (Linda) Hangsleben of Solway and Walter "Rocky" (Joyce) Hangsleben of Solway.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Jack.
