William “Bill” Davis

William “Bill” Dale Davis, 70,of Solway died Mon., May 6, 2013 at Sanford Bemidji Medical Center.

Memorial Services will be 11:00 am Saturday, May 11, 2013 at the Evangelical Covenant Church in Bemidji, MN with Rev. Dean Nelson officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be at the Guthrie Cemetery under the direction of the Cease Family Funeral Home of Bemidji.

Bill was born November 16, 1942 at home in Guthrie, MN, the son of Thomas and IdaMae (Stillwell) Davis. He was raised and educated in Guthrie and graduated from Bemidji High School. He attended the Dunwoody Trade School. He married Teresa Otness on April 20, 1979 in Bemidji. He was self employed as a carpenter for many years and in his later career he worked for Gordon Construction of Mahnomen and then for his nephew Brad with Davis Drywall. He retired in 2004.

He loved to deer hunt and fish. He had a special bond with horses, and took pleasure in taking care of them. He had a fantastic sense of humor and enjoyed teasing his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife- Terri Davis of Solway, 3 daughters- Dawn Bahr of Chanhassen, MN, Charlene (Monte) Draper of Bemidji, Melanie (John) Haugen of Fargo, 3 sons- Jim (Missy) Melberg of Princeton, MN, Jeremy (Lisa) Melberg of Zimmerman, MN, Dale (Vicki) Hanson of Maple Grove, MN, 14 grandchildren, a sister- Roberta Monson of Willmar, MN, 3 brothers- Gerald (Diane) Davis of Bemidji, Thomas (Marilyn) Davis of Guthrie, and Robert Davis,and many nephews and nieces.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers- Russell, Donald, Everett, Glen, Earle and Arthur and a sister – Karen, and a grandson Brady Joseph Melberg.
