Weight-loss contest to begin Thursday
A weight-loss challenge will begin Thursday, Aug. 20, at Explore Chiropractic in Bemidji, and will be held for 12 weeks with meetings each Thursday evening.

The program advises proper nutrition and food choices and encourages exercise. Each person will receive personalized weekly, one-on-one coaching. The cost is $39, of which $10 will be donated to a children's charity.
Fees will go to cash prizes to the winners. Specific rules will be in place to keep everyone consistent.
The previous challenge ended with an average loss of more than 15 pounds and 15 inches per person. The payout was $575.
