A week to Chicago
BEMIDJI — After a long, cold winter, Bemidji is set for one more dose of strong winds — from the Windy City.
A giant in the music industry, the Grammy Award-winning band has sold more than 100 million records in a career that has spanned six decades.
Chicago is the first American rock band to chart Top 40 albums in those six decades. Included in those achievements are 11 No. 1 singles and five consecutive No. 1 albums. The band has had 25 of their 34 albums certified platinum, and all told, the band has 47 gold and platinum awards.
Known as “the rock band with horns,” Chicago has long been identified with its progressive style and horn section, which spawned memorable songs such as “Saturday in the Park,” “25 or 6 to 4,” and “If You Leave Me Now.”
