Weather-related postponements, cancellations for Monday

Some area schools called off classes Monday as blizzard conditions in the Bemidji area made travel difficult.

Among the schools closed Monday at Bug-O-Nay-Ge-Shig, Clearbrook-Gonvick, Kelliher, Northwest College in Thief River Falls and East Grand Forks and White Earth Tribal & Community College.

Here is a list of other weather-related announcements:

--Adult Day Services Bemidji closed.

--Bemidji Food Shelf closed.

--Bemidji Paul Bunyan Senior Activity Center closed (no tax help Monday).

--Bemidji Senior Nutrition closed (no meals on wheels).

--Hope House in Bemidji closed.

--Bemidji Boys Choir practice canceled.

--Cass Lake-Bena boys basketball game postponed.

--Leech Lake Head Start closing at noon.

--Churches United of Bemidji closed. Annual meeting postponed until 6:30 p.m. Feb. 1.

--Bemidji Rotary Club meeting canceled.

--Bemidji Parks & Recreation Manic Monday canceled.

--Nymore warming house and outdoor rink closed.

-- "Forest Management and Global Climate Change" scheduled today at 3 p.m. at the Center for Research and Innovation canceled.

-- New Salem Lutheran Church fishing derby canceled.

--Bemidji Soup Kitchen closed; weather permitting will be open Tuesday.

--Cass Lake Boys & Girls Club closed.

--Bemidji Area Program for Recovery, all groups canceled.

--Bemidji Area Schools Community Education Water Aerobics canceled. ALL OTHER COMMUNITY ED ACTIVITIES ARE ON AS SCHEDULED.

--Red Lake Nation Boys and Girls Club closed.

--After-school activities at Laporte canceled

--After-school activities at Walker-Hackensack-Akeley canceled.
