WCHA, BSU announce scheduling agreement
Bemidji State University and the Western Collegiate Hockey Association announced today a future scheduling agreement for the Bemidji State University men's hockey team.
The agreement features the guarantee of a home game schedule with WCHA hockey teams, according to a press release issued on Friday.
"We're pleased that we have been able to successfully pursue this agreement with the WCHA," Bemidji State President Jon Quistgaard said in the release. "We view this agreement as the first step in developing an even closer relationship between Bemidji State University and the Western Collegiate Hockey Association."
The scheduling agreement is to become effective beginning the 2010-11 season, in accordance with the possible opening of the proposed Bemidji events center.

"This is a positive step for Bemidji State University and its hockey program," added BSU Director of Athletics Rick Goeb in the release. "It helps us in reaching our goal of attaining more home games and additional games against the one of the premier hockey conference in the country--the WCHA."
BSU hopes to play an annual 12-game non-conference, schedule against WCHA with an even split of home and road contests, the release said.
However, the details of the scheduling agreement have not yet been finalized.
