Warren completes basic training
Navy Seaman Apprentice Chelsea R. Warren of Bemidji recently completed U.S. Navy basic training at Recruit Training Command in Great Lakes, Ill.
During the eight-week program, Warren completed a variety of training that included classroom study and practical instruction on naval customs, first aid, firefighting, water safety survival and shipboard and aircraft safety. An emphasis was also placed on physical fitness.
"Battle Stations," the capstone event of boot camp, is designed to teach warrior attributes of sacrifice, dedication, teamwork and endurance.
Warren, the daughter of Carol M. Hofland of Bemidji and Rodney H. Warren of Cloquet, Minn., is a 2009 graduate of Bemidji High School.
