Wallace "Wally" Page
Wallace G. "Wally" Page, 89, of Blackduck, Minnesota died Thursday evening, December 26, 2013 at the Minnesota Veterans Home in Silver Bay, Minnesota. Wally was born on March 17, 1924 at Hines, Minnesota, the son of Arthur and Stella (Hines) Page. He was raised in the area and graduated from Blackduck High School in 1942. On September 22 of 1942, Wally was united in marriage to Marilyn Langord. Two years later, in 1944, he entered the U.S. Navy during World War II, and served as a navigator aboard the USS Sheridan. He was honorably discharged in 1946. Wally worked for many years a farmer, logger and truck driver. After a couple of bad accidents, Wally dispatched for LeRoy Anderson of Solway, MN and for Dyrdahl of Thief River Falls, retiring in 1983. Wally was a member of Faith Lutheran Church and had served as the church's first President of the Council. He also served on the first AALC Board of Minneapolis, was a member of Gideons and a longtime member of the American Legion. Blessed be the memory of Wally Page.
Wally is survived by his wife, Marilyn; his children, Gary (Sherry) Page of Thief River Falls, MN, Dennis (Carol) Page of Hines, MN, Cynthia (John Paul) Klug of Two Harbors, MN, Renee (Steve) Eickstadt of Hudson, WI, Rebecca (Mark) Bruske of Isle, MN, and Wallace Todd (Debbie) Page of Hudson; 5 granddaughters, Twyla Wittwer, Mykel Eickstadt, Briana Bruske, Alexis Eickstadt and Allison Page; 5 grandsons, Dean Page, Jonathon Klug, Brandon Page, Nicholas Klug and Evan Page; 7 great-grandchildren, Mackenzie Page, Aubrianna Wittwer, John Paul Klug, Kiara Wittwer, Mariah Page, Rebecca Klug and Jaret Page; a sister, Dora Utley of Anderson IN; and many other relatives. Wally was preceded in death by his parents; a granddaughter, Carly Bruske; and siblings, Edward, Darcey, David, Sylvia, Marian and Berdena.
The funeral service for Wally Page will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, December 31, 2013 at the Faith Lutheran Church in Blackduck, MN, with Rev. Thomas Reagan, officiating. Visitation will be held at the Cease Family Funeral Home in Blackduck on Monday from 5-7:00 pm, with a 7:00 pm prayer service, and also for an hour before the funeral at the church. Military honors will be provided by the American Legion. Interment will be in the spring at the Lakeview Cemetery in Blackduck. The Cease Family Funeral Home of Blackduck assisted with arrangements.
