Volunteers collect nearly 1,600 pounds of peanut butter

BEMIDJI - The Peanut Butter Project, a collaborative effort to provide peanut butter to benefit local children in need, has announced the final results of its food drive.

The effort collected 1,168 jars of peanut butter, equal to 1,593 pounds. Volunteers also raised $587.25 in donations, which will benefit the Bemidji Community Food Shelf.
