Volunteer mentors needed in Bemidji
BEMIDJI -- The Kinship North Youth Mentoring Program needs caring adults and families to serve as volunteer mentors for one to five hours a week with a child or youth in the Bemidji community. A one-year commitment is requested. There is a crucial need in our community for youth to connect with positive adults for friendship, support and encouragement, organizers said in a press release.
Mentors may be single individuals, couples, or families. Mentors and children are matched based on mutual interests and personality fit. Kinship North matches adult volunteers with children and youth ages 5 to 22. Kinship seeks mentors from all walks of life. The program now provides supportive services to older youth who are making the transition into adulthood and independent living.
