Volleyball: Roseau snaps Bemidji's three-match winning streak, 3-1
ROSEAU — Bemidji's three-match winning streak came to an end Tuesday as the Lumberjacks fell 26-24, 23-25, 25-10, 25-22 in Roseau.
The teams split the first two games but Roseau took advantage of Bemidji's mistakes to take control in the final two sets.
The third game was all Roseau as the Rams struck early and never allowed Bemidji into contention.
Roseau bolted to a 5-1 advantage in the set but spikes by Emily Falldorf and Brylee Colligan brought BHS within 5-3. The rest of the game, however, belonged to the Rams as they outscored BHS 13-3 to forge an 18-6 lead and coasted the rest of the way.
The fourth game was close from start to finish but Roseau scored nine of the final 12 points to turn a 19-16 deficit into the 25-22 victory.
Bemidji had trouble generating a consistent attack as the Lumberjacks committed 41 errors in the four games. Roseau had 25 errors.
Tuesday's loss dropped BHS to 3-4 and the Jacks will be off until Friday when they head to the Apple Valley Invitational. Bemidji will open the tournament at 5 p.m. against defending Class 2A champion Marshall.
Marshall also is currently ranked No. 1 in the Class 2A poll.
