Vivian Sylvia White, 72, of Federal Dam, died Friday, Jan. 30, 2009, at her home surrounded by her family and friends.
A service will begin at 1 p.m. today and continue until 2 p.m. Thursday at Sugar Point Community Center. Burial of cremated remains will be at 1 p.m. May 31 at Boy Lake Cemetery.
Carroll Funeral Home of Deer River, Minn., assisted the family with arrangements.
She was born Jan. 11, 1937, to Dan and Rose White in Sugar Point. She was raised in the area. After spending a few years in Minneapolis, she moved back to Federal Dam, where she lived for more than 30 years. She loved spending time with family and friends. She also loved the outdoors.
She is survived by her daughter, Patti (Gordy) Giffen of Federal Dam; son, Ben (Jen) Moe of Deer River; two granddaughters; a grandson; four great-granddaughters; sisters, Ruth (John) White of Sugar Point, Nancy Daughtery of Oak Point, Helen Linderman of Oak Point and Diane White of Minneapolis; brothers, James White of Minneapolis, Dan (Carol) White of Boy Lake, Ken (Mary) White of Longville; special friends, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by both her parents; four brothers; and three sisters.
