Vivian Ellis passed away on Sunday October 6, 2013 surrounded by her family and the wonderful caregivers of Colleens Caring Hands in Bemidji.
Funeral service will be on Saturday, October 19, 2013 at 1 PM in the Immanuel Lutheran Church of Cass Lake. Reverend Allan Wierschke will be officiating.
Vivian Gertrude Bliss was born on April 27, 1923 to Tillie and George Bliss in Cass Lake, MN. After graduation Vivian worked as a waitress and at the local bakery. She married Lyndon Ellis on March 22, 1942 and to this marriage six children were born: Connie Hughes of Plummer, MN, Linda (Jim) Gallagher of Minnetonka, MN, Gary Ellis of Cass Lake MN, David (Cherri) Ellis of Grand Forks, ND, Randy Ellis and Julie Ellis of Cass Lake, MN.
Vivian was happiest in her homemaker role. She loved to crochet, knit, was an excellent seamstress, loved to bake and served her families with many wonderful holiday meals. She always had a knitting project going on, either an afghan for someone or a sweater for the grandkids.
Besides her children, Vivian is survived by her husband Lyndon, of 71 years, who still resides at Colleens Caring Hands at Bemidji and has 13 great grandchildren. She is survived also by her brother Vernon "Dude" and Lil Bliss of Bemidji and grandchildren: Kris (Dan) Olson, Stephanie Ausk, Michael (Nancy) Ellis, Jason Ellis, Terri Ellis, Brad Hughes, Tori Schindler, Valerie (Ken) Brazzel, Wendy (Don) Mickel, Cindy (Kody) Young, Rena (Brian) Smith, Leslie Ellis and Tifani Ellis.
She was preceded in death by one son, Dennis, her sisters, Viola Isensee and Nora Quimby, her parents George and Tillie Bliss and son-in-law Roger Hughes.
Vivian was 90 years, 5 months and 9 days old
