Violet A. Palmer, 93, of Frazee, died Wednesday, April 1, 2009 at the Frazee Care Center, surrounded by her children.
Violet Alice Frank was born to Gottfried and Lena (Boehne) Frank on May 13, 1915 in Evergreen, Minn., where she spent her entire life.
On Sept. 3, 1942, Violet married George Palmer. She was a member of St. Paul's Evergreen Ladies Aide. She enjoyed gardening, canning, traveling, listening to old-time music and dancing. Being with family and friends were always very special times for Violet.
Surviving Violet are her five children, Alice Derke, Janice (Tom) Tupper, Joyce Palmer, Dennis Palmer and Karen Palmer; four grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.
Preceding Violet in death were her husband, George; siblings Selma Radel, Wanda Quittschreiber, Bertha Quittschreiber, Hattie Thelen, Albert Frank, Walter Frank, Emil Frank, Elmer Frank, Ed Frank, Alvin Frank, Leonard Frank and Arthur Frank; a
son-in-law, Bill Derke; her parents Gottfried and Lena Frank, as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
There will be visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday, April 5 at the Furey Funeral Home in Frazee, followed with a 7 p.m. prayer service. It will continue for one hour prior to the start of services Monday at the church.
Funeral services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Monday, April 6 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church-Evergreen, rural Frazee, with the Rev. Anthony Cloose officiating. Burial will follow the service at the church cemetery.
