Viola "Grandma B" Johnson

Viola "Grandma B" Johnson, 93, of Bemidji, MN died Tuesday, March 25, 2014 at Tamarack Court.

Memorial Services will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, March 29, 2014 at Aardahl Lutheran Church with Pastor Mary Marotte officiating. Family will greet friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Inurnment will be in the spring in the Guthrie Cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Olson-Schwartz Funeral Home.

Viola Mae Millis was born October 4, 1920 in Lake Hattie Township, Hubbard County, MN to Harry and Sadie (Allen) Millis. She lived in Lake Hattie and attended Lake Hattie Elementary School. Vi married Perry Bannor in 1936 in Bemidji and they lived in Guthrie. She worked at Itasca State Park as a cook at Douglas Lodge. In 1968 she married Don Johnson and they lived in Bemidji. Vi worked at North Country Nursing and Rehab Center until retiring in 1985. She was a volunteer for Northwoods Caregivers. She enjoyed cooking, baking, reading, spending time with her family and she loved her church family at Aardahl Lutheran Church.

She is survived by sons, Larry (Peggy) Bannor of Duluth and Lee (Gloria) Bannor of Guthrie; daughters, Carol (Jim) Wynne of Bemidji and Peggy (Ronald) Fellows of Tenstrike; 7 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Perry Bannor and Don Johnson; grandson, Ryan Fellows; great-grandson, Craig Malvick; brothers, Ernest, Earl and Harold (Bud) Millis and sister, Francis Vojak.
