The View from this side of the Lake: Would an earlier start date mean more learning at school?

With the rite of summer passing and another Labor Day approaching, our thoughts turn to the subject that is debated more than the weather, Minnesota sports teams and Governor Pawlenty...that of when to start school. This year it is even more an interesting subject because with Labor Day on September 8th , the date is the very latest that it possibly can be on the calendar.
