Vehicle strikes pedestrian on Bemidji Avenue Saturday

A man suffered right knee pain after he was struck by a vehicle while he was crossing Bemidji Avenue North Saturday night.

According to a report from the Bemidji Police Department:

Charles Deeter, age and address not listed, was crossing Bemidji Avenue at the intersection with Fourth Street Northwest just before 10 p.m. when he was struck by a 1993 Ford Ranger.

Chas Eckman, age and address not listed, was driving the Ranger. He attempted to stop for the pedestrian, but was unable to do so in time and struck Deeter with the right front side of the pickup truck.

Deeter declined ambulance transportation, but went to North Country Regional Hospital in a private vehicle. He was treated and released.
