U.S. Marshals and Roseau County deputies arrest attempted murder suspect in Roseau

ROSEAU, Minn. - The Roseau County Sheriff's Department, in coordination with the U.S. Marshals Service, arrested Adam Matthew Pepera, 32, at his place of employment in Roseau, Minnesota in the late afternoon hours on Thursday, November 4th. Pepera was wanted on a Washington State warrant for Attempted Murder in the First Degree. Information obtained indicated that Pepera was living in Warroad, Minnesota, and working at a business in Roseau. Investigators from the Roseau County Sheriff's Office located Pepera at work and arrested him without incident.

Pepera is alleged to have shot another person at point blank range in the Seattle, Washington, area on August 11th 2010. The victim survived the assault despite having been shot twice in the head. Pepera initially fled the area and was at large until his arrest yesterday. The U.S. Marshals Service, Pacific Northwest Fugitive Task Force (PNNWFAT) initiated an investigation in an attempt to locate and arrest Pepera. On November 3, 2010, the PNWFAT investigation developed information that Pepera had fled to the Warroad area and was possibly working in Roseau. This information was forwarded to U.S. Marshal Service Deputies in Minnesota, who set out to locate and arrest Pepera. Working with Deputies from the Roseau County Sheriff's Office, Pepera was arrested and in custody in less than 24 hours from the time the information regarding his whereabouts was received.

"Just as important is our relationship with our State and local partners, like the Roseau County Sheriff's Office who arrested Pepera and brought his time on the run to an end."

Pepera is currently being held in the Roseau County Jail without bail pending extradition to Washington State.
