Lance Randal Bohlman died at the scene of a logging accident reported at 10:59 a.m. near Misty Meadows Road Southwest. It was determined that Bohlman had been operating a tracked skid steer outfitted with a logging sheer prior to the accident.

Initial indications indicate that a log penetrated a gap in the cab floor and wedged up underneath a hydraulic pedal. Bohlman exited the cab to apparently clear the jam. When Bohlman cleared the portion of wood jammed underneath the cab the tension underneath the hydraulic pedal was released causing the boom arm to fall, fatally injuring Bohlman.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Responding to the scene were the Beltrami County Sheriff's Office, Bemidji Fire Department and Bemidji Ambulance Service. Beltrami Industrial and Speck Logging also assisted.
