UPDATED: Blackduck girl dies as a result of accident

FARGO, N.D. - A 13-year-old Blackduck girl has died as a result of her injuries from crash Friday in Beltrami County.

Skyayla "Sky" Love died Sunday at a Fargo, N.D., hospital, according to a news release from the Beltrami County Sheriff's Office.

Love was trapped in a vehicle that overturned Friday on Alvwood Road Northeast, about 3.5 miles east of Blackduck. She was extricated and airlifted to a Fargo hospital, but died Sunday as a result of the accident, the news release said.

According to an earlier release, issued Sunday, the Sheriff's Office said 911 dispatchers received a call at 5:49 p.m. Friday about a car crash in Summit Township.

At the scene, deputies found that a 2005 Pontiac Grand Prix - occupied by an adult male driver, adult female passenger and a juvenile passenger - had left the roadway, overturned and impacted trees.

Both adults were able to exit the vehicle. The Blackduck Fire Department used forced to extricate Love from the car.

The adult male driver and female passenger were treated at the scene by Blackduck Ambulance.

The Beltrami County Sheriff's Office and the Minnesota State Patrol are continuing the investigation into the crash.

Funeral services for Love have been set. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Friday, June 8, at Cease Family Funeral Home in Blackduck. A memorial service with no viewing will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 9, at Blackduck High School, with a chance to visit with family and friends one hour before the service.
